The Illinois Department of Transportation recently completed a study of crash-related deaths, injuries and property damage on Illinois highways.
IDOT reviewed the year-to-date traffic crash fatalities occurring from January 1, through March 31 to the same time period in 2007. In 2007, St. Clair County had 24 fatalities and in 2008 there were 15 fatalities.
We are pleased that the number of fatalities declined in our county and hope the numbers will continue to go down each year in the future.
