The Renee Center is the Domestic Violence Multidisciplinary Team Program for St. Clair County. The Center was established in September 2004. Since its inception, the center has received nearly 3300 orders of protection. And nearly 3000 orders have been successfully served. The Center is a coordinated effort to promote safety and justice for victims of domestic violence. The Center offers services for victims of families of Domestic Violence.
The Center consists of thee Assistant State’s Attorneys, two court advocates, two probation officers, and two members of the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department, Sgt. David Thornton and Deputy Larry Austell.
Sgt. Thornton and Dep. Austell are responsible for serving orders of protection and doing all the follow-up investigation regarding domestic violence in St. Clair County.

Each year the percentage of orders served stays consistent with the rate around 88%, which is nearly 18% higher than the state average. Every year the number of warrants and criminal subpoenas served has increased. Both rates for warrants and subpoenas have nearly doubled since the first full year.
