The St. Clair County Sheriff's Department Drug Tactical Unit (DTU) is focused on efforts to eliminate street level drug crimes through a multi-agency drug task force. This task force consists of two Sheriff's Deputies, along with Officers from local police departments. We have now partnered with the Belleville Police Department and have begun an aggressive campaign to control the spread of drugs and drug related crime in the city. The unit also functions cooperatively with other participating agencies.
The goal of the unit is to provide a service to participating agencies and to the Citizens of St. Clair County through the elimination of drug sale locations within the agencies jurisdictions. This will be accomplished through covert drug purchases, knock-and-talks, search warrants and high visibility proactive patrols. The Drug Tactical Unit always strives to make the quality of life better for the Citizens of St. Clair County.
